About Hannover Re has a long history in and commitment to Australia. The first contract was written in the 1970's and with a growing portfolio, Hannover Rückversicherung AG - Australian Branch (ABN 88 002 927 031) was registered as a foreign corporation in Australia in 1985. Littlewoods Services Pty. Ltd. Limited was appointed to provide administration, claims, regulatory- and accounting services whilst underwriting remained in Hannover. In 2004, the local facultative underwriting operation went local and Treaty P&C in 2012 at which time all functions were effectively performed locally. The branch and business have since developed further and moved to L33, 100 Barangaroo Avenue into new premises in March 2018. In the same year a few months later, the transition to a fully fledged operation with all services was completed and the previously outsourced functions are now performed in-house.
