About
Kempsey Shire Council is located in the West Kempsey CBD. The region, known as the Macleay Valley, is home to just under 30,000 residents with Kempsey being the major service town.
With a strategic position mid-way between Sydney and Brisbane, the Macleay Valley is a featured destination of the Mid North Coast of NSW, spanning a geographic footprint of 3,338sq km from the hinterland to the coast. Townships and localities include South West Rocks, Crescent Head, Grassy Head, Stuarts Point, Smithtown, Gladstone and Frederickton.
Our region is well known for its array of coastal attractions such as Trial Bay Gaol, Smoky Cape Lighthouse and the national surfing reserve at Crescent Head. It is also home to the Slim Dusty Centre and big industries such as Akubra Hats and Nestle.
Council acknowledges and pays respect to the Dunghutti people, the traditional owners and custodians of the Macleay Valley.abn registerapply for australian citizenshipnsw gov jobssydney city councilbush fires todaysydney councillocal governmentcity councilshirekempsey shire council
